Kennel Lake Members,

With the announcement that Governor JB Pritzker made last week about camping being allowed on Friday May 29, 2020, Kennel Lake Sportmen’s Club will allow camping to start then. The Board of Directors were following the executive order from the Governor of Illinois. It was not the Board of Directors decision not to allow camping but them following the executive order.

However, with all of the rain that has fallen in the month of May the grounds are extremely soft. Caution should be taken when pulling off the road.

The beach bathrooms will be opened at that time. There will be cleaning products in cabinets located in each bathroom. It will be a big help to the club and it’s members if everyone would help out with maintaining the cleanliness and help sanitize the bathrooms.

Kennel Lake Sportmen’s Club is issued a beach permit every year from the Tazewell County Health Department and this has been this way for years. The permit allows for swimming to take place from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Health Department tests the water every two weeks to make sure that it is safe to swim in. Kennel Lake has not been issued a permit from the health department and we are not sure when or if one will be issued. We are in constant contact with the health department monitoring this situation and as soon as we get word from them we will pass it along. Kennel Lake has built a great relationship with the Tazewell County Health Department over the many years and is not going to jeopardize that relationship by allowing swimming without a permit.

The no swimming is going to be strictly enforced and there will be zero tolerances for members who violate this. A fifty dollar ($50) fine will be issued per offense as well as a temporary suspension of membership. This is for your safety! We are all in this together, please take care of your club! Thank you from your Board of Directors.
